... I plugged $20 into the penny slots and played for 1 1/2 hrs before it was gone. Dave played some blackjack and made enough to cover dinner. We had the buffet there for dinner. We probably drove another 20 minutes to enter the California side of Tahoe, which is much more developed. We still stopped at all the beaches if there were any, but most of the California side was developed with houses and not public beaches. The houses were actually mostly cabins, which I liked. ...

The Best Western was not the newest place in town, but it was clean and comfortable. Dinner was at Racks Bar and Grill, the deer heads and waitresses lived up to the name.
We stay the night in Ely.
