Friday, July 24, 2015. PCT day 96. Miles1527.6-1551.7. For some reason, the morning seemed like it dragged on really slow today. I felt like time slowed down. By 9:30, it felt like I had been walking for 4 hours, but in actuality it had only been 2 hours. It was chilly last night, the temperature dropping down to 45F. It felt good. There were no mosquitoes. The powdered coconut milk, granola, and organic pop tarts I had this morning must have ...

... pushed on. He hikes really fast. Eventually Spontaneous, HeMan, and TooMuch caught up and set camp here as well. I am so thrilled that there are no mosquitoes here. I was gonna cowboy camp, but decided to set up just the tarp to block the wind. It is chilly up here, enough to make me glad I still have my down jacket and lite fleece. As I get ready for bed, the temperature is 51 degrees ...

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. PCT 93. Miles 1501.8-1506.3. The views of Mt. Shasta this morning were breath taking. Knowing that we only had about 5 miles of downhill into town, we took our time breaking camp, not leaving until 8am. We made it down to Castle Crags State Park by 10ish. Cuban B, Too Much, and Myself called the shuttle service posted on the trailhead to pick us up ...

... Valley Creek. There was lots of climbing today. I think the cumulative elevation gain today was about 5000-5500. Oh, and bushwhacking through poison ivy and poison oak. It felt like a jungle today. The tree canopy was thick, with tall Douglas Firs and Cedar Trees and Oak Trees too. Eventually the trail made a bend to where it grants you epic front row views of Mt. Shasta with a summer thunderstorm rolling in. As I write this, I can see Shasta be bombarded with lightning. ...

Last day of our trip! Getting closer to home. We slept on the train and during the night our train stopped in Oakland, Emeryville, Martinez, Davis, Sacramento, Chico, and Redding, CA. We were sort of sad because we really wanted to see this country in the daylight.

We woke up early near Dunsmuir, CA (Mt. Shasta.) It was beautiful. When Chris looked out the window we were slowly passing two mule ...
