... the most famous fjord of Norway, the Sognefjord. A quick mountain shower blesses the beginning of our cruise, but soon the sun returns and stays with us for the remainder of our cruise to our lodgings in Flam.

After check-in and a short break we hike in the Flamsdalen Valley to the Brekkefossen Waterfall. It is a spectacular 2.5-hour adventure, with some steep climbing to the base of ...

... to contend with a couple of uphill climbs. The worst was just outside Myrdal when we thought we were home and hosed. So after this last bit we finally got to Myrdal where we could have done the shorter ride from.

The last 20kms of ride made all the hard work worth it. The majority of the ride from there was tarmac so we pumped down the hill and got some amazing views along the way. Down the bottom there was definitely some high fiving to be ...

Long day over and thru the mountains

We left Oslo this morning and headed for Flam. Because the usual road taken has washed out, we drove an alternate, very curvy, narrow road. We climbed to about 3000 feet, and thru several tunnels. We left the tree line, and at the highest elevation saw a lake that still had ice. We drove thru valleys with too many waterfalls to count and lots of summer places where ...
