      ... didn't work as there was central heating. The workmanship and detail is amazing and it took just two and a half years to build despite all materials having to be taken up the hills by donkey cart. There was an art gallery where the art was all in the stained glass windows but they were all destroyed by artillery during the war.       ... is a huge cathedral here, actually bigger than any other we have so far seen. It is Gothic in style and actually wasn't completed until 1880. It also escaped destruction during WWII.
