No air-con. Too near the main road, hence, very noisy at night or in the morning, even though location is quite convenient.

We flew into Munich late morning and after checking into our hotel we set off to look at Nymphenburg Palace. We have so many palaces and castles we will see on this trip and we know we don't have time to tour them all on the inside so we just walked around the grounds and gardens of this one. The palace used to be a summer residence for the rulers …

We made the same walk as the day before after getting off the train, but found that the place was a ghost town because it was Sunday! Interestingly though, I didn't mention that saturday this area was so crowded we could barely walk. Even though it is winter, we have been finding ...

It holds offices for the prime minister and state government. At the end of the tour Lenny took us to the infamous Haüfbrauhaus. Not only can you drink beer and listen to some German music, but you can gain some history on it as well. It is one of the oldest breweries in Munich. It was originally used for the Royal ...

... we got to Munich, the more festive the trains became. In our second to last train, there were four Germans in their 20s dressed in lederhosen drinking out of a keg they brought with them and playing music over their travel speakers. They seemed tame however, compared to the last train. I would say that at least 75% of the people on that train were dressed up in either lederhosen and dirndl or just in random costumes that were definitely ...

One thing that had been a bit of a struggle about France and even switzerland was the lack of options for vegetarians, France was hopeless. So we did a little research before we went out and found a highly recommended veggie restaurant, ...
