Hello hello Another cool day in Amsterdam. This place is really growing on us. The first half of today was spent looking up places for the three of us to stay from tomorrow night. Unfortunately and for some reason Amsterdam is exceptionally busy at the moment. Maybe it always is? I was informed it had been sold out for months but I could wait to see if any reserved tickets weren't picked up (I'd be number two on the list). This place is simply beautiful. I want to keep riding all night, searching and exploring the town and all its wonders. It is quiet compared to Amsterdam, and there are some truly incredible houses. The houses have so much history, are clean in design, and there is a nice balance of privacy and openness. Well, that is all for now. I am getting tired and am going to try and figure out a way to sleep while its light out. ...
... As a result, the city is very quiet and feels cleaner, the bikes have very good priority - it never feels like you're wrestling with the cars. It was so good to be able to really engage with the city - I think cycling gives you a new perspective and makes you feel like you belong! Of course the best thing was having the lovely Fordy guide us round the city- we managed to get the perfect mix of seeing the sites but also just chilling ...
