We are in bed, leaving at 2:30 AM!! Flying from Fort Myers to Newark, then on to Duesseldorf on Lufthansa. Packing was a nightmare given that the weather will be all over the place. Still doesn't feel real. We are really looking forward to our adventure! (And hope the Lightning win the Stanley Cup!) Sitting in airport in Fort Myers. Got here early but that's ...

So I boarded the Amtrak train in Lakeland and enjoyed the experience. The windows were wide and the seats big. Wait, maybe I meant that the other way around. Where was Ms. Marcos? Mrs. Howell? Where the students like we were today? Oh well, coffee is ...

We packed up and drove right across Florida to Tampa on the west coast. It took nearly 5 hours, partly because Neil wanted to take the 'scenic route' by the beach. Highways are boring but much faster. The countryside was flat all the way with fields of 'sod' and orange trees. It looks like most of the oranges are processed for juice or fructose. We had all had a creamy milkshake from Steak & Shake. When we arrived at the Tahitian Inn, Mum and Reuben had a swim ...

... we shared a Cuban dinner and the best Cafe con Leche ever! A beer was consumed outside at the hostel whilst watching an American Football match with the owner, Bruce, and various other guests. This ended the night and my stay very nicely. After re-reading this blog I can see that it reads like a three-day-pub-crawl but I can assure it was not just that. My blog gives you the facts of the day but to describe the characters and their stories ...
