... good as it was raining heavily and there was half a gale blowing. Anyway, a bit of judicious map reading and reassurance from a friendly Dutch chap with GPS device solved the problem and we strode off into the rain. Hay on Wye was just 4 miles away and all down hill. We reached Hay at 4 o'clock, quite early, sat on a bus stop seat for a while and then easily found our accommodation for the night. Whilst posting Daniel's birthday card Nick noticed the post box was gold rather ...

... the city for awhile. After coming across a few unsavoury people, I thought best that I head back home. The wind was howling, the rain coming from all directions and I was saturated. Not a real good impression of Cardiff. Ugg boots everywhere!!!

Accommodation - Maldron Hotel, Cardiff. Good hotel and location.
Temperature - 8-13 degrees, windy and teeming with rain from our arrival to our departure.

Then home again to start getting things ready for our departure ...

... morning was our first ever surfing lesson. Our poor coach didn't have a clue what he had let himself in for trying to teach 6 welsh girls the theory behind how to surf...Bless him. After our theory we had to put on our wet suits which inevitably took at least half hour (we were then shocked why the lesson was not as long). We then had to carry our surf board which was a drama in itself- it's surprising how heavy surf boards actually are. Our lesson was so fun. I would ...

There has been no let up from the howling winds & rain except for today which funnily enough has turned out to be okay. Dowlais Top & Gelligaer Common have no shortage of animals grazing the common land, here you'll see plenty of horses and of course Wales' favourite woolly companions....ahem...sheep. You'll also see cows up there and serve as a reminder of sunnier days spent in India...as our own cows here also believe they have the right to wander the ...
