... Toboggan Chute on Valley Way at Strongsville and from 6pm - 10pm toboggan'd myself silly. There are two man-made concrete chutes side by side 700 feet (about 200 metres) long and 70 feet (+20 meters) high - best speed I managed lying flat on my back was 45 mph (70 kph). I had a GREAT time and the staff were excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I also found out that there is a down-hill skiing facility at Alpine Valley on Mayfield Road (US322), Chester but did not get there.
In Ohio, and a few other states, they salt the roads during Winter to help keep them free of ice and snow. Unfortunately, it has a few less desirable side affects. To aid in minimising this undesirable side affect people do interesting things to their (often) interesting vehicles!! Have a look at the attached photos. ...

We also dropped in to the local hardware store that still sells nails, nuts, bolts, washers etc by the pound - just 'scoop 'em out' by hand and drop them in a bag!! No little plastic '6 nuts and bolts to a box' throw away packaging here!! Also, while there what do we come across but 'home-made' motorbike - the pictures describe ...
We arrived here a day early for a rare day off yesterday and today's back to work with two shows. The sponsors were even able to arrange for a calliope to play on the midway before and after the shows and during intermission. Hearing a calliope (one of absolute favorite instruments...it's considered an instrument, right?) while people were arriving for the shows made me feel like I had stepped back in time.
