      ... The Older church is no longer used but well maintained. It has exposed original mosaic flooring in places and frescos cove parts of the walls,. Some of these are in fairly good condition. There is a large wooden cross on one wall with somewhere below it where the locals can light a candle. It turns out that this is the Baptistry of the Newer church.       ... people in at a time for a maximum of 15 minutes. The amazing thing about this artwork is that during the second world war the entire building was destroyed in a bombing, except for the one wall with the painting on. They have now rebuilt around it and created a high tech temperature controlled room to keep it safe from decay.

      ... the Contemporary Art Gallery, although we only walked by). Afterwards we caught the tram back to the apartment. We've both had showers and are now resting before dinner tonight. They have offered/insisted to cook for us despite us insisting we would take them out for dinner. I'm not sure how it will end. We have bought them a gift (a stuffed kangaroo) so I hope they like that. We haven't given it to them yet, but I'm not sure how it is going to fit in ...
