... fast train to get to Thun but that was not the case. 15 minutes after leaving Thun we were there. The castle, like the one in Thun was very picturesque. It was not a fortified castle but really a grand old house on the water's edge with turrets, a bell tower and lots of rooms. Then they were persecuted again and his grandfather was taken away and never came back.  His grandmother and ...

... and the greener valleys below.

We caught a different train home, via Grindelwald. It went the other way around the peak and also had less tunnels, so we had better views of the mountain. There was a large forest on the Grindelwald side, with a huge sea of Pine trees, all completely covered with Pine Cones. We even saw a glimpse of some deer and a squirrel. The squirrel was black with big fluffy ears. On the train route home, we could also ...

One of Switzerland's finest cities. Sightseeing takes in the impressive city walls, a wooden bridge, ornate patrician houses lining cobblestone streets, and the Lion Monument. A grand selection of optional activities completes the day: a cruise on the fjord-like lake or a cable car ride to the 10,000-foot summit of Mount Titlis. (B)
