... and baboons cackling and calling. We saw dik-dik today..and found an elephant skull, jaw, and femur in our surrounding camp area. We also went to Kimana, the nearby town, where I was dropped off in an area where I was for the first time totally unable to communicate or blend in! Malaria, amoeba and 2nd degree burns
... when they did reach home, they would often spend their whole evening cleaning or cooking for younger siblings. When they finished year 8, they would often be married off, never getting the opportunity to attend high school.
