    ... look and said yep all good. Quickly setup the tent and put on our swimmers ready for a swim in the Black Sea… which is for the record blue, (I could recall we made similar comments about the Red sea when we were there) down to the beach we go as it is fairly hot….     Varna is a pretty nondescript town. Third largest in Bulgaria, with a large port and beaches. And a history of Mafia. We went to ANOTHER archeological museum. This one is known for having the oldest collection of worked gold in the world. Otherwise, a lot of Greek and Roman things. We had lunch at a Turkish restaurant along the pedestrian promenade, then headed back for some R & R. ...

    ... exhibits more descriptive placards with a photo of the site and info with it's relevance in history. Better suited I think to a museum in Rome or Italy somewhere. The other bonus exhibit was ancient Egypt,while containing a few of the typical relics it focused a lot on Egyptian astrology and gemology relating to cures for ailments- not a total waste this was quite informative with good explanations and lots of examples.

    ... of Queen Victoria and married, at 17, to the Crown Prince of Romania. At the time she visited Balchik and fell in love with it, the town was in the southern part of Romania. She was quite an artist and writer and made the town a sort of artisan hub. When she died in 1938 in Siniya in Romania, her heart was returned to the chapel in Balchik for burial.

    ... the recreation of a very wealthy noble's burial place from the late 5th millenium BC with many golden artefacts including a gold penis sheath - well, who could resist?!

    We only managed one floor before 'museum overload' kicked in, but well worth 2:50 each. (If only for the sheath!)

    Then back to hotel for lunch (aka Jerry's breakfast) and packing of beach stuff. Lounger, umbrella, sun, sea, sand .... So sorry ...
