... lulled by the waves and sound of welding - repairing stuff ready for the season!

Back to Nessebar (more dreadful driving en route. Why do people - mostly in big Mercs - seem to need to overtake whether or not it's safe?) for a shower, and out for dinner. Somehow missed lunch, so feeling hungry now.

Such a hassle with bank cards - we tried 3 today and none worked! Spent ages on the phone checking with the bank, but no problem with them and no evidence that ...

... to the new town. A nice sandy beach, but full of sun beds etc even now. I would hate to be here in the main season. Not really much to write about, but managed to buy a beach towel (bright pink which I will leave with you Pam) and have lunch in a pretty restaurant overlooking the causeway and old town.

The drive across to the Black Sea coast was rather featureless and ...

Like all churches built during the Ottoman period, it was wasn't allowed to be higher than a mosque, so it was built partly below ground level; when we entered the purple flower-filled courtyard we had to go down some steps to reach the entrance. It was small but wonderful inside. Nearly everything was wooden! Even ...

... green, lush, hilly scenery in the first half of the journey, with occasional views of the sea. Every now and then we passed through a small village with leafy vines growing on frames over the pavements and in people's front gardens. Once we had passed the unlovely town of Sunny Beach, the landscape flattened out into fields.

On arrival in Burgas we had some problems getting to the guesthouse. They'd said that they were only five minutes' walk from the ...
