... in day-to-day life are very welcome!

In the meantime, they have sent my visa application off with a covering note confirming for what it's worth that I am definitely a person who has fingers, albeit uncapturable ones.

I'd cross my fingers during this nervous wait to discover whether I can make the train journey across Russia that was the original inspiration for my trip. But I'd just probably make matters ...

... squirrels eager for a feed. After a much needed coffee and snack, we finally reached Oxford Street and Beryl and I made a bee line for Primark where much to Wayne and Neil's annoyance, we managed to spend the next hour seeking out bargains.

Shopping done we had a leisurely lunch in a gorgeous traditional English pub in Mayfair. I had my first beer (well a taste anyway) as the beer that Wayne and I are toasting in ...
