Het inpakken en de bijbehorende bijna-met-vakantie-stress is gestart. Over 4 dagen vertrekken we al naar Nieuw Zeeland! �� Voor iedereen die toch wel wil weten of we daar echt zijn en of we echt wel al die fantastisch mooie plekken gaan zien, zal ik af en toe wat foto's op deze blog zetten ...
Het is bijna zo ver!
... aan een fantastisch surprise-afscheidsfeestje afgelopen weekend. Vrienden en familie, iedereen was er. Ook het afscheid op het werk van Evelien was onvergetelijk. Ergens wel moeilijk, je laat iets achter wat je dierbaar is. Maar voor ons is deze reis een droom die werkelijkheid gaat worden!

Preparation
... a college for vocational education in Hengelo, the Netherlands, called ROC van Twente. The classes I teach are all studying computer technology, some classes at the Duch level three, others at level 4.
They are future computer management assistants, application developers, and network and systems managers. Most of the them are boys, in the ages between 17 and 27 (!). Naturally, they were glad to see the last of me today.

Introduction
... So I'll be traveling the first 2500 km from the Netherlands to Tarifa, Spain as fast as I can. I'm hoping to be able to ride at least a good 500 km every day, which means that I would be in Tarifa after 5 days. Here I'll take the ferry to Tanger, where I will hopefully meet up with my friend Diederik, who's been traveling on a bicycle the last months (check his travelblog). Great cruising, traumatic docking, charming visit
Oct 6th - Day 2 of cruising.
Yesterday we had 3 locks, today will be only 2. we see similar sceneries as yesterday but also a couple of quite industrious cities. We lunch upstairs with the captain - yesterday we had flavored burger patties prepared by the Maasbracht butcher and today, cold cut sandwiches on dark rye bread. We have nother long day to sail: 7-8 hours, going to Zutphen. The challenge will be to make a couple of needle pin turns. The first from the ...
