Oct 6th - Day 2 of cruising.
Yesterday we had 3 locks, today will be only 2. we see similar sceneries as yesterday but also a couple of quite industrious cities. We lunch upstairs with the captain - yesterday we had flavored burger patties prepared by the Maasbracht butcher and today, cold cut sandwiches on dark rye bread. Zutphen was the first hanseatic city of Holland. Of particular importance was its medieval layout of its street, cited for teh first time in 1030 and still recognizable nowadays.
It was quite beautiful albeit with regret we weren't able to see the Librije with its 750 books dating back to ante 1750 and the 70 incunabola printed before the 1500s that were still bound to the table. ...
