... hotel has 801 rooms with over 120 staff members on the HK Department alone! Upon arrival, I will be cleaning rooms for about 1 or 2 weeks and after that, I will mainly be supervising and controlling. Corresponding with trainees that are currently there has taught me to have a flexible attitude as it'll never be the same.

Tip for future travellers: If you rent a car, be sure you include unlimited mileage and FULL insurance!
Do NOT drive at night! (On highways not such a problem, but not on roads)
Take 2 credit cards and always have cash with you. Sometimes there is no power and you cannot pay with cards.

... The dogs are all very well behaved and their owners have them on a leash. Just a different part of culture for us to see.
I saw my first church here. This church dates back to 1470. We just don't have dirt that old here in Canada. I think the one thing that impressed me most about Europe is that they actually respect their history. They don't tear it down to make way for a new road....they build the road around their history.
... drove for about 1 hour and then stopped to have some breakfast. We arrived at Enschede (149 miles) at 12.15, only to find that the lunch hour was from 12.00 – 1.00 ! So we sat in the car park and waited until they re-opened. de Twentse Es campsite was quite suitable with showers, electric and a wash-up area. As the weather was nice we sat outside for our evening meal.
Oct 6th - Day 2 of cruising.
Yesterday we had 3 locks, today will be only 2. we see similar sceneries as yesterday but also a couple of quite industrious cities. We lunch upstairs with the captain - yesterday we had flavored burger patties prepared by the Maasbracht butcher and today, cold cut sandwiches on dark rye bread. We have nother long day to sail: 7-8 hours, going to Zutphen. The challenge will be to make a couple of needle pin turns. The first from the ...
