      Tja so ist das eben, manchmal geht es einfach nicht weiter. Das Unwetter über den Philippinen hat ziemliche Ausdauer und wird uns wohl noch weiter beschäftigen. Die Tropengewitter, die kompakte hoch reichende Bewölkung mit schweren Regengüssen lassen an einen Weiterflug bis mindestens morgen Mittag nicht denken.

      ... branch for no particular purpose. They seem to have a real playful carefree nature. Other highlights were the sun bears, otters, gibbons and proboscis monkeys. On my way out I grab my driver and I a local ice-cream - glutenous black rice flavour (yes, with real black rice grains through it). Not bad! It tastes like a frozen rice pudding. I try to convince my driver to drop me off at my accommodation to save me some time but his English isn't sufficient ...

      ... completely and utterly saturated. Despite this, it was a great moment to see the room full of wet and cold climbers, drinking coffee, laughing and trying to keep warm. When Jim went to check in, they told him,'We have no heating or hot water, but have a nice stay'. He thought this was very amusing, but it also meant that we could not warm up and that our clothes and boots had no chance at all of drying before the next day.

      ... have a really good selection of animals but it was just so run down, most of the enclosures were tiny and it didn't look like much was done to keep the animals in good health. It's a real shame as the chance to see elephants, leopards, tigers, sun bears, orang utans and much more was incredible but once you've seen them you can't help but feel sorry that there existence is confined to poor conditions in a ghost ...
