... nice but the town was absolutely horrible! It had a bad feel to it and its the only place I have been to on my travels in Asia that I felt very uneasy. I never ventured outside my room after dark, talk about seedy! I felt very safe inside the hotel though. The people were very different, unfriendly and downcast. The buildings were....well hard to describe, so see the pictures! The seafront was a conglomerate of dirty local cafes invaded by very poor kids ...

... better than all the Malaysian doctors! We finished the training at 11 and somehow not a single patient had been admitted during the morning so we decided to leave and head to the canteen. We both had our usual fried chicken noodles and passionfuit ice tea. In the afternoon we headed to the beach and spent a few hours relaxing in the sun topping up the tan. Kudat was by far the friendliest and cleanest city, with its campaigns to keep it rubbish free and large park areas. One thing they all have in common are the conveniently placed KFC's.
