... We did check with Vaneesh that it was ok to feed them, we certainly wouldn't want the dentist bill!
As we wandered around the park we saw alligators, plus many crocodiles that had been bred and born in Mauritius, we went inside an enclosure housing displays of butterflies, insects and spiders - not my favourite things to look at but the display area was air conditioned and the butterflies were quite beautiful, some were the size of your hand.

They also speak French (all the newspapers are written in French; films at the cinema are dubbed in French; TV programmes are in French) & English. Indian languages are also spoken.

English is the official language, although nobody we met spoke it by choice. Apparently, all legal documents are in English; but they have to be translated into French so that people can understand them ...
