... the streets after 6am it's effectively game-over for his car, they won't hesitate in smashing it up.
Anyway back to Swayambhunath AKA The Monkey Temple, it was pretty spectacular for sure, a huge site of immense historical & religious importance situated on a hill overlooking the whole of Kathmandu. The monkeys that frequent this place are really funny but also quite thuggish, especially if you are silly enough to eat food in their presence (we were ...
Another fun explore on our own days. Bhupesh and I both love touristy tours so today we took the hop on – hop off open top double decker bus to see all of Singapore downtown. We got on the 11:40 bus and the tour is 60 minutes if you don't hop off. So we saw the North-South circuit, had 14 minutes to grab lunch to go (Korean BBQ and Bibimbap with dumplings), and then did the 60 minute East-West loop. We cut it close but ...
Singapore, Singapore asksarita... bathroom all for £15 a night which is very cheap for Singapore believe me..
I was actually thinking of celebrating my triumphal arrival here by staying a night in Raffles but can't bring myself to spend that sort of silly money. I'll just have to content myself with sinking some slings in the Long Bar instead. However, am now looking at a FIVE STAR MOMENT at the Bali Beach Hotel Sanur, if I can work out the boats ...
... beaches etc. However – it was a rainy day, and when it rains boy does it rain! We wondered down Orchard Road instead where there is one huge futuristic shopping mall after another! Loads of them, with all the shops from home. There are the big designer shops that you’d expect such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton, but also shops like M&S and Dorothy Perkins!! I don’t know how they all survive as there is a similar mix of shops in each of the shopping centres ...
Singapore, Singapore nicolamawdsleyMy two friends and I were free of classes for all of Friday so we made the initiative to explore what this great little city has to offer. We have heard rave reviews (and not so rave reviews), about the Singapore Zoo so we decided to make a trip to see for ourselves. After looking at these pictures, I highly doubt this comment will ...
Singapore, Singapore vriversbo... of technology shops just down the road from the hostel. I headed off there, found a camera shop and approached a guy behind the desk. He was Chinese, rather fat and had an obnoxious demeanour. I explained what was wrong, and he instantly and dismissively replied that repair was pointless, whipped out several cameras and started showing me their features, advising me to buy them right that second. I had a look at a few for five minutes, but wasn't happy with ...
Singapore, Singapore alastair6... starts to go & leaning back stops it. Next had 2 goes on the Luge for $16. Went up on the chairlift & had a great view over the island & saw how many ships are moored waitingto get into the port. The luge downhill was fun!!

... include garlic. J and I had tried to sample such a menu in a similar café in Boulogne but it was shut; this time we had just eaten anyway - never mind!
Because our flight was late the following day we had some time to spend a leisure in Singapore. We opted to visit the Botanical Gardens, a huge area of green quite close to the centre of the town but rather awkwardly placed for the MRT. The nearest stop is Orchard, which is the stop associated with the major ...
... clearly marked lines where people should stand in order to allow people to come off. There is absolutely no eating or drinking in any of the station platforms and trains (the absence of bins was noted) and you face a fine equivalent to 200 GBP if you are caught. The stations themselves are highly modern, like they've been extracted from Tokyo, and have large plasma TV screens that not only display trailers but helpful information on how to board and stand in ...
Singapore, Singapore apoc100... and unable to walk and look around further, was fine for me. I could move in the morning. The people who worked there were not friendly and I knew it was a place that I did not want to stay any longer than necessary. I wouldn't even budge when they tried to persuade me to stay longer. No way would I be there longer for a night. I jumped in the shower, desperate to wash my body after hiking and roaming the city and traveling all day. Then... sleep. Even though I had a ton to do the next morning, I refused to set an alarm.
