... quarter. It is a small town here, but holds a nice tourist free feel to it.
We are now making the most of having the freedom to roam as in 3 hours, we will embark on a 28 hour journey up to Tromsø in the Arctic Circle.
P.s. Many thanks to all that are reading our blog, and remember that you can leave comments.
... the Norwegians like to construct all over the country. In short, if bridges will not do the job, build tunnels under the sea or fjords. These are really quite elaborate architectural constructs and must cost a fortune. Good to see the North Sea oil being put to fine use. Around Alesund there are several of these tunnels varying in length up to 2000 metres or more. Alesund also is known for its furniture production. If the prices in the Art Nouveau shops ...

Røros, Norway sannyIt's been a glorious wonderful day here in Trondheim. Nothing beats this town in great weather. It's extremely cold -12 degrees with a breeze which makes it very invigorating (read insanely cold!)
I drove around Trondheim photographing all day today. I went back to some of the places from my childhood, even back to the house where I grew up.
I've spent the last few days with my family and friends in Trondheim. I'm looking forward to skiing at Oppdal on Thursday.
Moose Watch 2007 has begun with me spotting 7 moose (mooses, meese??) on the train from Hamar to Rørøs and back again. I havent gotten a chance to take a photo yet let alone ride one so Blake and I will still be aiming to fufil that challenge when he arrives in Europe. As for Rørøs it was beautiful. I wandered around the church which was built in the 1770s I believe, the slag heaps, mining museum and ...
Rørøs, Norway mooskaaHi @ all, this weekend I took part at a canoe tour at lake Femunden. It was just great. I just can everybody suggest to go there. It is rely diversified. The lakes in that area are connected through little pass way's and rivers. Which makes it rely interesting to be there. But that is all to the place. I let the ...
Lake: Femunden (no city), Norway -oedipus-... it was cold. I was really surprised. It was warm enough that I did not need to whip out my gloves, hat, and scarf, but it was a big difference compared to Hamar. I think just because Hamar is by the water and Røros is in the middle of Norway. Røros is mainly a historical town. It has a little under 5,000 inhabitants (if I am remembering right) and also has the remains of the coal industry. There are huge piles of rocks leftover ...
Røros, Norway jess06... in Hamar, but there is another town called Rena that also has a campus for the Hedmark University College. I liked it because Rena is my aunt's name. :) Anyway, we continued on our way and arrived in Røros, our first destination. I had been to Røros once before with Joe on our road trip to visit Ingrid, so there wasn't too much that was new to me there, but I really like the town because of it's history, and because of ...
