    ... sweet tooth, of course we all kept him company. On our return to Oberstaufen we detoured to the Wieskirche (white church) which is a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built in 1730 ten years after a farmer witnessed a statue oh Christ weeping. Millions of people each year make a pilgrimage to this beautiful and highly decorated Catholic Church.     Literally. The past few weekends all the cows and goats are being brought down from the high pastures where they have been grazing for the summer. It's a pretty big deal in the villages - called Almabtried - and the usually Saturday market is ramped up to include traditional music, crafts, and an extra selection of beer, schnapps, sausage, cheese and bread (can you hear my gut gurgle!).
