We first hiked up the valley to view the Trummel-Bach waterfalls ("Trummel-Bach-Falle"). These falls are amazing - they are ten glacier-waterfalls inside a mountain (but still accessible). By the time we were leaving, it was raining harder. Instead of walking back, we took the funicular. It is the oldest funicular in Europe. It was built in 1879. After our expensive sandwich and drink lunch ($150) we headed to Wengen where ...

She was telling me there is no further building to be done in Grindelwald, and what is there has to be traditional Swiss housing. See my photos.

And so I spent an hour in Grindelwald the theatre of alps overlooking the small town, and I thought that was ...

... the world, but we decided we can paraglide/hang glide/raft/canyon/skydive in other places we'll go someday and are saving our Swiss francs for a special train ride not covered by our rail pass.

So Interlaken's been a bit of an extended burn day. We had a great sleep after the mountain air cooled off with the rain and we have an awesome group of roommates at our chalet-style hostel. They've all just come from our next few stops, ...
