... a couple in a van that looked as if they were going to stop there, they must be crazy. We snaked our way down, passing people out skiing, sledging and using a large kite to pull them on a ski board, we don't know the correct name for this activity! The parking place we had chosen was in a small forested area, there was just a small amount of snow on the ground and it was a few degrees warmer than at the pass. After tea we made plans for ...

... rice dish with bread and salad. In the afternoon we were supposed to catch the ferry to the other side of the lake, however we read the timetable wrong and missed it which meant that we had to drive to Rapperswil instead. ... In spite of the drizzle we managed to find our way from the huge train station across the river and a short two blocks to our hotel. So far so good. Our focus was to wander the old part of town along the river and get lost in the back streets. There were far less tourists than in Vienna which gave the city a more laid back feel. It's interesting that in Vienna the residents seem to dress in designer or fashionable clothing. In Zurich I felt right at ...

Day 283 2 hrs, 7 kms The valley continues. A narrowing strip of lush green grass surrounded by wooded slopes and cliffs, interrupted by classic Alpine villages with large, immaculately decorated chalets... But they're not all independent towns, so I can only count one of them. The trail markings aren't as good as in Switzerland (here I am, comparing again!) and I end up at a dead ...
