      ... It serves a traditional famous Schlosswirtschaft Schattenburg it's a Foot long Weiner Schnitzel. Served with a pickled salad or fries. Chase was up for the challenge being the meat eater he is and as you can see didn't quite get there but gave it an impressive go. It was a great setting in traditional surrounds.       ... a couple in a van that looked as if they were going to stop there, they must be crazy. We snaked our way down, passing people out skiing, sledging and using a large kite to pull them on a ski board, we don't know the correct name for this activity!       ... rice dish with bread and salad. In the afternoon we were supposed to catch the ferry to the other side of the lake, however we read the timetable wrong and missed it which meant that we had to drive to Rapperswil instead. We walked around the town here as well and also around the lake. Before heading home, we had gelato in a cafe by the lake.       ... Itally, then Milan for a weekend, Lugano then Zermat and back to Bern, maybe Geneva then Amsterdam for a weekend.

    • I also looked at where to spend Xmas. Patrick was going to meet me as well so we decided to head to Lapland for Xmas, then work out way down through Estonia to Riga in Latvia for New Years.

      ... In spite of the drizzle we managed to find our way from the huge train station across the river and a short two blocks to our hotel. So far so good. Our focus was to wander the old part of town along the river and get lost in the back streets. There were far less tourists than in Vienna which gave the city a more laid back feel.
