    ... divers take advantage of - very popular on the day we were there. Actually, the whole lake area is popular - you see, the government enforces Sunday as a family day, so very few shops are open and you see families out enjoying themselves, going places and having fun together - lovely to see!

    This morning Monika and I set out for Appenzell, Switzerland.  We made our way along (very) windy roads to the base of the mountain named Saentis.  A gondola went to the top, but we were content with enjoying time by the cafe at the old wooden cafe-hotel after hiking through a lovely pine woods.  Dogs were everywhere on the patio and the sunshine was strong and warm.  At 1,352 meters ...

    ... the way down from the mountains. I thought " Yaa, these little tunnels...piece of cake, no problem bru"
    The results: Stef was positively surprised after the first tunnel, I was blown away from the dust, the cars and the volume levels a normal car can produce in a tunnel. It's LOUD, and there is less air going through then through a chain smokers lungs!

    ... restaurant in the sun to have rosti for lunch. The hike is an apparently popular one because we saw more people than on any other hike. After lunch we retraced our steps to the top of the gondola, then went down a steep trail, through a cave, past a chapel perched on the mountain to a restaurant where we relaxed with coffee before hiking back up to take the gondola and train back Appenzell. For dinner the hotel owner prepared an Appenzeller cheese fondue which was delicious. On 9/30 ...

    ... and decorations are influenced by those cultures. Romansh is the major language of this region. On 9/27 we walked from Sent to Scuol in a little over an hour, then took a gondola to have lunch in a mountain restaurant. We then took a very easy walk to a chair lift which took us down to Ftan to catch a bus back Scuol. Tomorrow we're off to ...
