... trap, no doubt, but I've wanted to visit it. I had no idea that Germany and Austria were so devout in the Catholic religion. We saw wood carved crucifixes along the roadside and here and there on mountain sides. Our guide told us it was not a marking for accidents or anything tragic, it was just a place for hunters or woodsman to go and pray when they were away from the village.

... as it is the month for maintenance and inspections so skiers need to be very dedicated to walk up in order to ski down.

There are tour groups from every country and continent. South Americans, Pakistanis, Chinese, Japanese (they take pictures of everything!) Russians, etc.etc. we did not see any North American tours but lots of North Americans.

We drove from Lindau to Innsbruck. It is about a 2 hour drive without stops on mostly 4 lane road and good highways. We already had out Austrian Road sticker. We got that when we went to Lichtenstein.

Driving through the Alps is not like driving through the mountains in western Canada. The Germans and Austrians don't believe in going around a mountain if you can go through it. We figure 1/4 of our trip was in tunnels!

... Museum which was housed in the former Royal Apartments and dedicated to the life of Empress Elizabeth who was married to Emperor Franz Joseph, the second to last emperor of Austria. Before we could get to the SiSi Museum though we had to go through the Royal Silver and Porcelain collection which was absolutely breath taking. ... congregate at the better stops. On the way into Innsbruck Bern decided to do a side trip up to the ski jump that was built for the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. Of course being up high it have us a fabulous view over the city. Coming down into the city, being a Sunday with not many cars around, Bern decided to "do a dodgy" and Mario stopped the coach and we all jumped off the coach for a real quick look at the Wiltern basilica.
