Day 11 - via Italy to Swiss Alps

Tour guide suggested that we should be awake for the first 2 hours of the trip as it amazing seeing the coast and then the last 2 hours. Everything in the middle is fine to sleep for. Great food and when I said about my dietary requirements she catered to me. I used Italian and I was ok (never done that before - who ...

... up to the top took about an hour, we were able to see some amazing views of the Alps on our way up, and we were so lucky with the weather again! The sun was shining, I think I had overestimated how cold it was going to be and was wearing waaay too many layers, the train made a couple of stops on the way up so we could hop off and take in the views.
When we finally reached the top we got off and set out to see what there was to do, Stacey and I took the life up and got ...

... building work on a wine cellar on this site. The Glacier Garden was officially opened to the public in 1873, and excavation work went on until 1876. The canvas roofing errected in 1980 now protects the natural monument from weather. The museum excavation shows the glacial potholes and boulders that were once covered by glaciers. The museum covers ...
