Hakonsgaten 2 Bergen, Hordaland, Western Fjords, Norway, 5015, 5530-9090
SATURDAY. 19th August BUT...breakfast was extraordinary. Just the two of us. Upstairs in milady's chamber or living room a veritable feast was laid out. From cereals to cold meats to smoked salmon to eggs to juice, coffee and tea and it kept coming. We were overwhelmed with food. Pity the generosity had not extended to the size of our bedroom. The room itself where we ate was covered in knick knacks including a forest of candles, some strange lights, frames of contemporary art, CDs, a piano a...

... impressive for a non-reader eh? haha.

We got to Bergen at 7 in the morning I believe...we didn't get off till maybe 8-9ish. We walked in the rain to the town and around it. We managed to find the tram that takes you up the hill\mountain side to a viewpoint. It was gorgeous up there. Tons of houses and water to see! We also managed to hit the time where there once a year market comes out. So we ...
Bergen, Western Fjords, Norway kkb-myadventureOur last day in Bergen - mixed emotions about this. We are sad to see our family vacation come to an end, but we are definitely getting homesick and looking foward to getting back to the states. I'm sure you all are getting ready for the big weekend, so I'll make this blog brief. It might also be the last...

Today, we walked down to the fish market to take a look around. We saw eel, whale, lobster, salmon, monk fish, crab, and shrimp just to name ...
Bergen, Western Fjords, Norway larzstarz... br> We must have reached the Summit of Lyderhorn around 9.30am and were jubilant we had conquered our first peak. Getting our Yellow Cards punched it was time for a brief food stop and intake of the view before pressing on- the time now being an enemy. The descent was a nightmare. The sheer volume of walkers had already churned-up the trail badly and with the previous wet weather you were ankle-deep in mud and were hard-pressed not to fail on ...
Bergen, Norway mickels... won't see much, so do it when the sun shines! :) A good thing to do in Bergen when it's raining would be the aquarium though - that's always fun and most of it is inside. They have shows with the seals and the penguins there that's fun to watch, and also there is a big collection of different crocodiles! Bergen i easily "done" in a couple of days or so, but we stayed for a whole week.
Bergen, Western Fjords, Norway sissetine... up until about noonish, but I had to hurry back to the city so that I could go paragliding. Originally I thought we would be running off of a cliff to go, but instead we were towed up by boat which allowed us to breach the mountain top skyline and get an amazing view of the area. I was one of the first to go and after Jan the leader strapped me in to the line, the boat was off without so much as a five minute instructional training. The entire flight lasted about ...
Bergen, Norway conman... covered probably wasn't that bad, there's no doubt it would have been much cheaper to fly. The bus left Amsterdam at 11pm and arrived into Goteborg at 16.30pm the next day. Id say the main reason i had such a good journey was due to getting a seat to myself the whole way. When i was getting on the bus i decided to use my dodgy looking swollen eye to my advantage, so as it was on my right eye i decided that i wouldn't sit on the right side of the bus with my eye turned into the ...
Bergen, Norway talamarko... cruise on the Naedroyfjorden and Auslandsfjorden. Magnifcent scenery with mountains, frozen waterfalls and small farms and villages clinging to the flat land between the mountains and the fjord. No rain but the weather was cold so a lot of people stayed inside the boat which means we had free reing outside to take photos and video of the scenery. Arrived in Flam at the end of the cruise and had ...
Bergen, Norway tyga... and observing the German tendency to make new words by joining a long string of existing words. After some discussion, Amy and I coined the new word, 'worldtrippinkinder*****in,' which we felt was an apt description of the attitude of our kids toward the Scandinavian iteration of our adventure. A stop in a coffee shop for hot chocolate did much to turn away wrath ...
Bergen, Norway oneyearaway... return I think I've ever seen. It was pouring rain outside and there was snow all over the ground and cars. It was sure a change from the unseasonably balmy weather in London. I found the bus, a very nice motor coach, and paid up for the journey to Bergen. We stopped first at the bus depot in Haugesund and after a half hour wait, changed busses. It was kind of a weird feeling, being in a bus station in Norway, and I'm sure I was the ...
