A bit dated, however, helpful, friendly staff, great location right at station, good wifi, hot water, Japanese style bathroom available. Good value .

Train back to Hiroshima, Shinkansen to Kokura, then Beppu-all super smooth.

For now, our beds have been made and it is time to plan for tomorrow. Good night ...
... up close because the tide was low. We then decided to hike up to the top of the island. Wow! This was a great hike, the prettiest hike I've ever done. Along the way we visited other shrines and we were able to witness a private ceremony. Cool! We continued to hike up to 2000 feet on stairs alone!!!! It was tough, but we did it. And it was worth it! The views from the observatory were incredible. We decided to take the cable car down and that was also cool! Our next stop ...
