    ... we weren't supposed to know that EVERYTHING was closed on a Sunday here! So with that we got back in the car and set off for the other towns we had in mind to see over the next few days.

    Within an hour we had seen the towns of Lenox, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Lee - ok, so maybe we didn't anticipate how small and sleepy these towns actually were!

    ... back to beautiful river views. Our anchorage at Houghtaling Island was very pretty and we felt like we were in a jungle..... the birds were so loud and as the afternoon progressed the crickets took over. In the morning we were lucky to see a bald eagle right near our boat... after the fog lifted a little. We waited a little until it was clear before Marty pulled up the anchor.     ... known to be the Summer homes for the rich and famous from New York, both historically and present day, including Meryl Streep, who has a house on the edge of one of the lakes. Unfortunately Tricia and John were not on first name basis - oh well.........
