Arrived at in Anchorage, Don met me at the airport, grabbed my backpack and the rental car and got dinner. We got to the hostel and good luck/bad luck... good news - the other travelers in the room had checked out and we didn't have any new arrivals so we had he place to ourselves; bad news - the travelers that checked out took Don's backpack and rain cover, our camp kitchen, his sleeping pad, and our TENT!!!!
When Don checked in the manager offered to locked them in this shed in the back...

Anchorage, Alaska, United States pamericas... traveling. In stores, people look you in the eye like maybe they know you from somewhere. Drivers are rude, like anywhere, but not always. Anchorage citizens are friendlier, freer, feistier. You can't tell who has the money. No one cares who your daddy is. Well, maybe that's changing a bit. But since we became a state in 1959, where's the status? "Hey my family has been in Alaska since 1959?" Don't think so. Some people are starting to show their money. There is a big ...

Riley’s theme is going to be a “Dora Pirate Party” and Jessica doesn’t get a theme, but she will be having ribs. I’m in charge of potato salad.

We plan to stay in Anchorage until the 22nd. Anchorage, Alaska, United States dlpool... and the most awesome pizza I've ever had. After burning time at the restaurant, cleaning out the rental car, we finally made our way back to the airport. We bid farewell to our trusty Ford Focus, a little muddier and 1,500 miles later. So our flight didn't leave until 1:00 in the morning. In hindsight it wasn't the best idea to drink all afternoon and then get on a plane. I was pretty hung over by that time, and on top ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States lilikoi78... Our plane left at 7 pm and arrived at 6 am. I really hate those all night flights, but it was non-stop, direct and the only flight to Atlanta so... At about 1 am Alaska time I started to get sleepy, but that's 5 am Georgia time and we were starting our descent by then so I never did sleep. One thing about such an early arrival on a Saturday morning, there were no delays getting to the arrival gate -- the ...

Anchorage, Alaska, United States langleydude... the
highlight of our trip, there many animals here to see in their natural
habitat (not like a zoo) and all the proceeds from the admission ticket
and gift shop purchases go to taking care of them. I even got to feed a
deer. My alaska trip was amazing and I look forward to the day that I
can revisit this beautiful state of wilderness.
Anchorage, Alaska, United States gnatalia... us 4 hours out along the coast where we saw icebergs and sea otters basking in the sun (it's warming up now). From the boat we lowered ourselves into the Kayaks (Jo Jo and I paired up) and off we glided toward the glacier. I love Kayaking! Once you get the co-ordination right and the steering under the control and are in sync with each other then you can really motor. But all you can hear are the paddles slicing the water and the occasional low voices coming from the others who are ...
