Visit to San Damiano
We woke this morning to a cloudless blue sky over Assisi. Our breakfasts here at Hotel Ideale continue to amaze us. A huge range of fruit and cereal and freshly made cappucino. The persimmon is just delicious at the moment. It was the perfect day to walk to the little church at St Damiano, in which the ministry of St Francis really began. Another amazing day in Assisi
Today was the best day weatherwise we have had here. When we went down for breakfast we walked into the middle of a spirited theological discussion between a couple from the US and a couple from Namibia, which became even more interesting as we joined it and in the end a couple from Singapore. A vertitable United Nations. After hanging out some washing on our balcony and (finally) finding a Post Office, outside the city wall (don't quite get why they don't have one in the city piazza) ...
