It was interesting to learn about the rabbit warren of mine shafts that still exist for kilometers below ground around Bendigo. ... Mildura Workingman's Club. I don't know if it was because it was so busy and therefore so noisy, but it didn't really seem like a celebration.

Here are a few facts: We have traveled close to 23,000km's, our fuel expenses have exceeded $6,300.00 and we've spent 99 days on the road with only a hand full of mechanical issues between us and only a few days where we were testy with one another.

... had just put their clocks forward one hour for their springtime so we were now another three hours ahead in Aus. We landed just after 10am Aussie time. We were given a ticket for express processing queue which helped but after we collected our bags which took a while because there were other flights coming off the conveyor belt we had to stand in a huge huge queue to declare none carriage of perishables basically. ... trip. Or East Coast Domination Tour as it has become known.

We left Adelaide at a nice casual 8am and headed for Bendigo. It's about 650km. We pushed along a bit and made good time.

Well, until we got properly into Victoria anyhoo. Then we were confounded by lines of horrible caravans. And plod. A bad combination. Towards the end I'd had enough and we took some "B roads" just to get some relief.
