... in through the castle walls. The town is busy and all the little narrow streets are filled with bars, cafes, cute shops and gelateria (ice cream places). There are a few piazzas which face onto the Lake where the main past time is to sit and people watch - perfetto! We headed for a little beach cafe on the other side of the castle that Mike and I had visited a few years ago and they do the most gorgeous Mojitos I have ever tasted. So we had one each and the kids had ...

So this journey was completed and we had safely arrived at campsite no 5 after approx 180 miles and about 6 hours. ...

... and over the glacier right to the top - next time then! We got the 'yoghurt pot' back down and drove back to the campsite very ready for a rest, food and a little wine. As we sat outside looking up at the surrounding mountains we couldn't quite believe that in one day it was possible to go up and down two huge peaks...ski lifts are great! Dinner was Steak on the Cadac with potatoes, salad and bread. Dad was asleep in his chair by 8.30! ...

So tonight the plan was a lovely dinner followed by pancakes for dessert but the weather managed to change our plans! The main course part of dinner was fine no problems but after that it started to rain.... That's no problem, we are sheltered in the awning - or so we thought. The rain just got heavier and heavier and then the thunder and lightning started!! It was great to watch but we were a little concerned as the awning roof ...
