A very pretty (cobbled alleyways, olde worlde stylee, cows in a field with not only udders, but also tuneful bells which, when youºve got a dozen, made quite a din a la Mike Oldfield) little town, unlike the campsite which was essentially a sodden piece of grass, for which we were charged Euro 22, for the pleasure of a night's shut-eye.
Leaving San Sebastian behind we drove to Santander to spend the night. With nothing more then the car, no place to stay and no plan. As luck turns out we found a cheap Pension to stay at, and ate in their quaint little restaurant, treated to warm hospitality, good food, and free Grappa and Lemonchelo
Santander, Cantabria, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjon... fond memories of eating Basque tapas on the terrace, drinking coffee, and girl watching.
Memories, of Eva, one of the most beautiful Spanish women I have ever seen, with jet black hair and green eyes; Anes, the half-Belgian/half-Spanish cutie lawyer I met on the airport bus; the three beautiful senoritas on their way to Ibiza for a holiday, whom I also met on an airport bus ... Bilbao is still great for the senoritas, and that was actually ...
... The mediocre melon gelato I got from Heladeria Italiana didn't help either, as it was a little too creamy, and not as light and refreshing as I had hoped.
Santander ... I originally thought it would be a little tacky, given that it's quite a famous tourist destination, at least for the Spanish and Europeans. Like La Coruna, Leon, and Burgos, I did have a bit of a reason for coming here (in addition to beautiful Spanish senoritas ...
... this was definitely NOT a disappointment. One particularly attractive salesgirl made me chuckle inside, because she reminded of a quote I once read on the internet about Spanish women - the quote basically stated that Spanish women were so cute because of what he termed the Iberian overbite. This salesgirl had a bit of that overbite, and I realized that it probably was what made her so darned cute! I don't visit a lot of Sfera stores while ...
Santander, Cantabria, Spain and Canary Islands pwong... I kid you
not). Young bikini-clad women climb on tractors with a vague nod
towards tractor welfare and cleanliness, reinforced when some nearby
farmers (they have to be, surely), spray them with hoses (that's the
tractors and the women both). All this makes for a tiring start to
proceedings and so whilst the “hosers” are resting, the women
(there's no rest for the women in Spain) are for some reason
compelled to wrestle each other in a ...

Things got better on arrival into Santander as the rain i feared would be waiting for me on arrival had thankfully been replaced by mostly clear and sunny skies. With a Brittney Ferries fry up in my belly and a spring in my step i disembarked and pedeled my way through the maze that is Santander. After about an hour i broke free from the shakles of the city onto the open road ...
Not going to Germany like I have purchased tickets for. I would have had to leave at 12:30, and there is no way I could have put myself through that. Im whiped. Plus there is no place for me to stay, and the girls I would go with have differnt places to go and no plans of anything to do/see. Not to mention the 100 euro train ticket! No thank you! Chilling with my friends tomorrow. We will eat pizza and watch Ditry dancing. Relaxing is nice!
Santander, Cantabria, Spain and Canary Islands jschae13... try to take some photos of Pie de Concha, or else I'm sure I will forget most of this. Just before we head out we see two bulls strolling in front of our house, followed by a little red eurocar. Yesterday, we experienced the 'walking of the bulls' ... heheh... there were approximately 12 bulls being corralled through our streets directly in front of our house. Totally crazy. Pie de Concha ROCKS. On the one hand, we are on the Calzada Romana ...
Orena, Spain and Canary Islands styrsky... and that´s pretty much Corte Inglés. I went in to buy some snacks to hold me over until I returned to Pamplona, since I was carrying my backpack I had to check it at the customer service desk. After shopping, I picked up my bag and the customer service person gave me two blue cereal bowls and a recipe book and said, "gracias por su visita" (thanks for your visit). I think it must be store policy to give away presents to a certain number of ...
