To break up the travel time from Krakow to Budapest, we were taken off the beat path to the Tatras, a high mountain range in Slovokia that is a hiking and skiing mecca. The travel time from Krakow was about 6 hrs, first on a public bus that took us to the base of the mountains and then private transport to reach the little ski village of Tatranska Lomnica where we would spend the next 2 nights. After leaving Auschwitz we traveled back to Krakow to visit Schindler's Factory, part of which is now ...

Took the bus from Kraków to Zakopane and then another bus to the start of the hike. The hike took two hours to reach Morskie Oko aka the Eye of the Sea, which is a big beautiful lake in a valley surrounded by mountains. We hiked 400m vertically, but a total of 10km distance. Then we hiked around ...

... me to make myself at home- good already done.

After officially checking in and a few recommendations from the owner I'm off for a little dinner and a little evening walk in the hills. It's still extremely hot here and from what I understand I have just missed the rain. I take the day easy sticking to meandering roads making my way to the ski hill for some lovely sunset ...
