... shop and make sure the passes were open before continuing, however this was not to be as the shop was only open Mon - Fri!!

We both decided as I had never been over Susten pass that we would give that route a go!!

... there are a few great stops with viewpoints built into the tunnel. Here trains stop for 5 minutes to allow passengers to take photos and also allow downhill trains to pass our uphill train.

Onwards and upwards we travel at no more than about 25kph. Soon we arrive into the "Top of Europe" station which is built into the tunnel itself. From here other tunnels lead off to all the viewpoints and activities here on top of the mountain.

There are restaurants, shops ...
