          Grosse scheidegg!

Ok, I pretty much imitated crawling in the last few meters, but I got there.

It was easily the most elevation I've ever walked in one go before.

Now, I need to admit something here. I carried a chocolate bar all the way to the top, because I wanted to get a photo of it.

The mountain on the Toblerone bar is here, and if I didn’t get a photo of it, I was being a ninny.

So, I took my photo, and was really excited to eat my chocolate ...

... and friendly and supportive staff, plus Wengen itself with no vehicular access is a very relaxing village. I knew Grindelwald, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland would be quite different.

It's a pretty easy transfer, a train from Wengen (1,274 m) up to Kleine Scheidegg (2,061 m), change trains for one heading down the mountain to Grindelwald (1,034 m).

My fears about tourist numbers were confirmed as I ...

... we arrived in Grindelwald tonight. Another winding road took us up the mountain. Turns may be slightly under 360 degrees in a small bus with occasional on coming traffic on a road barely wide enough for one vehicle and a cliff to your right or left. We arrived at a farm surrounded in rolling green pastures. There we met a couple who have brought their herd of cows up from the valley for ten weeks each summer to make their delicious cheese. ...
