We spent a busy morning making the boat ship shape. I had the honour of cleaning the heads. It was a picnic compared to lying on the pontoon scrubbing the topsides yesterday, after half a bottle of rosé. When I came back on board after being to the shops, UB was holding the ceiling in his hands. It had rained heavily and he'd discovered a leak or two. A travel blog entry by liz_turner on Jul 06, 2013

... So time flew by, one stop near Glasgow. Once at Glasgow my problems began: I had planned to arrive for 11 am, for a midday interview - luckily I did. They were having their orange marches, the place was full of police and they were marching just were I wanted to go. So at this point I assumed that the other kids was just trying to rile this one up and it was working so I reassured him. “In that case I’d say that yes, Doug can have a family.” “What about kids?” asked the boy. “Yeah kids too.” I added, and so the boy trotted off back to his tiny little table ...

The West Highland Way

... with numerous blisters and aches; every muscle making you aware of its existence and we take one step in front of the other. To ease the weight off my aching shoulders I am walking a cross between a duck and a cowboy, bending forward from the hip. We get to a pretty little spot called Balmaha, or the Bahamas as I kept mispronouncing. We stop at a inn for liquid refreshments. I am hobbling at this point. My new walking boots were obviously not broken in enough. As someone ...
