At Granny and grandad's house they have a farm and on the farm there are cows. A baby calf was born on Saturday and it was a browny orange colour. he also has 2 dogs and one is mean and his name is Ben. The other dog is called Sporty and he is a nice dog.
Mount Bellew, Galway, Ireland paddy2ireland... turlough (which is a shallow limestone lake that fills in the fall and dries up in the spring/summer) that the house overlooks and expansive lawns and gardens.

There was also a museum that showed us how the people who lived on their land would have lived and how they survived. Definately nowhere close to how the Fitzgerald lived... these are just some of the pictures that I took of the grounds....
Turlough, County Mayo, Ireland tjjoyce... in Baile tobair Bhrighde, Roscommon, instead of Baile tobair Phadraig, Mayo. A town that is miles and miles away! Soooo the king promised to build a much grander one for the Abbey and thats how it came to be... pretty neat huh?

This Abbey is also very important because it is the Abbey that never gave in. Since it was built in 1216 it has held mass every single day! Even through invasion and coersion, burnings and death threats ...

The service is definitely 5 star. The entire staff was there to make us comfortable and make sure our experience was beyond our expectations. And it was beyond our ...
Cong, Western Ireland, Ireland dsmccWell in true Hilary fashion I left all the organisation right up until the last minute. I booked my flights, car hire and accommodation less than a week before I was due to leave. It all worked out fine though. I caught up with Claire briefly before catching a flight from East Midlands airport. After paying a fortune to carry my fiddle with me on the flight they told me I had to put it in the ...
Shannon, Ireland hilsArrival at the Knock (now called Ireland West) Airport was on time. There was a gladitorial music played upon airval by Ryanair to make sure that all remembered that. K had a awful flight with the tonsil pain. He tried to drink some tea to soothe it but by the end of the flight he came out with blocked ears and none on top of the excruciating pain in his tonsil. He was having difficulty swallowing and even talking. We were picked up by John, a ...
Knock, Ireland paddyindian... thing... Thanks to the Golden and Kenny clans for the good wishes and support as we head off on our adventure... At Shannon airport, not even a bomb scare could stop us getting away. Big thanks to JP, Sinead and Nicole for taking the time to come out to us, and to Mammy Kenny for bringing us down.
Galway, Ireland bennykenny... found this great house in Bohermore a few minutes walk to the city! And it was a gorgeous little thatched roof mud brick house! So, for 50 euro a week with broadband internet, I could cope with the continual messiness, sharing a room and having 8 other housemates. Only just! Think if I was to find a full time job until october in Galway I would've moved to another place. But the experience was great!
Galway City, Ireland rach_mulli... of the hills on our right to the waterline on our left. There was next to no greenery in sight, no way for the barren and windswept terrain to be used to grow crops or for grazing livestock. That people were desperate enough to even try to farm here was real proof to me of the reality of the struggles and desperation to survive on the land during the potato famine.

We stopped for the night in Westport, the ...
