Over the last two days, we've completed a circuit of the highlands starting out from Glasgow, to Roslin (and Rosslyn Chapel), Edinburgh (including Edinburgh castle where we saw the Scottish Crown Jewells and the Stone of Scone), called in on friends in Dysart and the Blairs in Stonehaven, overnighting in Dundee, then on through Inverness, the Great Glen, back through Fort William and on to meet peak hour traffic in Glasgow ...

... Lodge and tackled the 11 hilly miles over the 'String' road to Brodick. Actually this tuned into a pleasant climb - hard work but quite manageable, and a gentler ascent than we had had yesterday taking the same road the other way. Before we knew it, we were at the top then whizzing dow the other side (road surface allowing) right down past Brodick Castle and to the shore.
