As you approach the huge waterfall above you and get closer and closer, you can't help but feel you've seen the devils mouth. It was pretty frightening actually! And then we went right near or under the falls (i wasn't sure which cos i couldn't see a damn thing), but the only way to describe it... The greatest power shower in the world!! Lol. ... but you’ll love the multi-coloured cliff faces and, if you keep your eyes peeled, might even spot the family of dolphins who’s frolicking the beach is named after. Farther afield, a short bus ride will deposit you at Madeiro. It’s sufficiently off the tourist radar to guarantee a virtually empty beach fringed by feathered palms (although watch out for falling coconuts if you happen to be in the shade of one).

Just don’t tell anyone else, ok? ...

... was supposed to have better beaches, better nightlife etc etc but a good 45 min from the rodoviaria (bus station). This means we turned up at our selected hostel at 12 midnight in a new strange town. No big deal usually but this time our luck ran out. The place was full!! ****. We spent the next 20 minutes wndering around the dodgiest areas being scared by dogs and generally ******** ...

... hours, left happy with another 90 day Brazilian tourist visa. We returned to our new friends at the parking lot and gave the trousers back and our “appreciation” of about the equivalent of 3 beers and everyone was extremely happy.

The pousada which we stayed in here was probably the nicest so far as it was an excellent room with a private outside area, a nice general area upstairs, see photo’s and the staff were extremely helpful. On ...
