Today we wake up early and drive the scenic road to Bru Na Boinne, a series of passage tombs and mounds scattered around the Boyne River Valley. The largest of these is Newgrange. ... gaming centre attached to a cafe. After contributing several Euros to the gaming establishment we drove on a few miles to Drogheda. Being Sunday, parking was free so we had a lovely meal at Bru Bar which was excellent value. The waiter suggested we stay at the D Hotel so using wifi we booked a room. Then I went and found a shop I didn’t know existed.
An actual Ben & Jerry’s shop.
Now, British people would be shocked, but I’ve never actually had B&J.
But I tried and I LIKED!!
So I had my icecream, my book and my beach. Set for the afternoon!
I spend a long while putting on sunscreen too (learnt!).
And then, it was time to take the bus back to Belfast and sleep of the heat!
