Rather than have big empty rooms like the Bergen castle they were crowded with antique furniture. The walls were also adorned with many full size tapestries. ...
The third museum visited was the Fram Museum. It is dedicated to the exploits of the Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen. The museum is named for Amundsen's ship, the Fram was the first ship specially built in Norway for polar research.
... Frogner Park, a main tourist attraction here. The long bridge over a scenic river had bronze statues of nude men, children and women in various numbers and poses, mostly in struggling positions? I don't know... There was one where a dude was kicking a baby!! Then it led up to a beautiful fountain and at to top it all, there was a tower made out of more nude statues stacked on top of one another! Every big city needs a phallic symbol, I guess! It reminded me of the artwork ...
Our last day in Oslo; I wanted to go to the food court once more, and we'd found ice at a supermarket nearby so we wanted to fill the ice chest.
At the food court we found some wonderful Raclette, fish cakes and breads and then bought the basics at the supermarket upstairs.
I had insisted on going to the Oslo Opera House as it is quite unusual, and it turned out to be just that. The roof line is angled so that it actually goes ...
