    ... the bus and arrived in Luzern ( Lucerne) about noonish. Our rooms were not ready so we sat out front of the hotel and had a coffee and some meat and cheese and watched the people. Lake Lucerne is directly across from our hotel.

    ... a mixed drink is very difficult to translate, so Chris had to order a bottle of Sprite a shot of whiskey, and a glass of ice separately, then I combined the ingredients at our table. The total bill was $29.00. It's like drinking on the strip!

    ... see the historic gears and heavy pendulum swinging. The large bell was right in front but we were not there on the hour!

    By now the humidity had risen and we headed down town. Had a look at the Bourbaki Panorama museum. This circular panorama 10 m high by 110 m depicts the memorable event of 1871 when the french army crossed the swiss border and gave up its arms.
