Pardon the length of the blog but so much to write.. There is no doubt about the final musical theme - 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky a resident of St. P. Previously known as Petrograd then Leningrad and now St P population 5 million and built on 43 swampy islands with 65 canals and 200 bridges. Obviously influenced by Venice. Back in Copenhagen after a day of cruising from Norway following a late breakfast we said goodbye to our French companions Michelien and Christian as they left for France. Spent the rest of the morning packing and unpacking as we were transferring to a new cabin. PM was spent in organising our excursions to St Petersburg and Stockholm. Today's theme song is Lily Malene as our port of call is in Germany. This is a major sea port,industrial area and tourist resort. Despite this W is a somewhat quaint village/ town with a strong fishing village. The ship is docked about a 10min walk from the town centre.
