Granada to the coast was an unexpected pleasant experience. The highway was exceptional,.. and the scenery very different. Lots of bald mountains,.. and rather desolate landscapes,.. though not unpleasant. There were strange scenes like caves carved out of the mountain face,.. the land looked like it had been completely denuded, then small trees planted,.. in rows,.. over acres and acres. Today we woke up in Barcelona and sadly had to leave our hotel. We then went to Casa-Batllo, An apartment built by the Batllo family in 1907. They still live there today but some of it is open to the public as it is designed by the famous architect Gaudi. It is a crazy place covered in mozaics and sculptures.
