    TOURS TO BLOIS

We set off at 7.00 am, after a night of storms, but the weather, while a little overcast, was dry and mild. We rode along the side of the river, before stopping for breakfast at a little patisserie at Montlouis. The basic theme is that some of the old ...

Our guests walked 8 kms before breakfast and we spent some time notionally spending the prize from the lottery drawn last night. After checking our tickets at Juan's coffee shop we put together a picnic and spent the day beside the Vienne river and at Chateau Rivau to keep within our original budgets. Rivau, being a Chateau of the Beauvau family who were supporters of the counts of Anjou, was fortified in 1445 and 'Royal stables' were built soon after. Jean of Arc ...

Today it has almost been too hot - mid 30's. A lazy last day including noodles in a box for lunch - not very French
