So far the hotel, has been perfect and right on the water with a great promenade to walk along. My dad started talking to this local man and when he told him our last name, the man was able to rattle off so many of our family members' names. He knew both sets of my grandparents! ...

... and started the 6 hour drive to Calabria. It was a beautiful drive, especially through the mountains, though I held my breath more than a few times as we zipped around the narrow roads! My dad enjoyed telling little stories along the way as much as we loved hearing them. Well, at least when I wasn't napping! Upon our arrival, we had a huge feast made for us by ...
