      This is not an official 'reserve', but is a massive forest that is managed by the local community. Tourists seem to be at a minimum as it's not easy to reach it. We had to pay an entrance tax, which ultimately supports the village. It's in their interest to protect the animals there, ...

      We were going to see Connor this afternoon but Mare sensibly advised against us going to the camp today in case it upset any of the other kids. They are all having lots of fun but are exhausted, and apparently in bed by 9pm every night, and so may make them homesick in their sensitive states if we arrived with embarrassing hugs and chocolate! ...

      ... remember enough French to get through this, with patience, after such a long day and not much food… They say it will arrive on tomorrow's flight from Antananarivo - late afternoon - and then they will bring to me! So all my clothes, toiletries, shoes - all I have are jeans and shirt. Steve dug out a nice pair of his shorts for me, that do fit, and at least he has deodorant and body wash! No face cream though, no hair brush (and of course ...
