THe hotel Bellavista has the best view of the lake, but unfortunately the hardest beds and pillows. THe bed was so hard I felt like I was sleeping on the floor, and the pillows were like sand bags. Aside from the horrific bed ( too bad, because the rest of the hotel was awesome ) I enjoyed the scenic terrace and restaurant. Perfect location within a short walk to the piazza and shops, and a short walk to the ferry.

I didn't take the private motorboat tour of George Clooney's front lawn when I went to Lake Como, but maybe I should have. I figured this guy just be tired of seeing boats whizzing by his 10 million dollar villa loaded with tourists taking videos and photos with zoom lenses hoping to catch glimpse of him doing whatever movie stars do in Italy. …

... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

... our options! After we left Michael and Steve at the train station, we chilled in Como for a bit more, which actually is where I am at the moment. We are in a lovely coffee shop with antique furniture compete with couches, great music and a entertaining waiter. Life is good, I am happy and look forward to the next chapter in my journey. Back on the bus to the hotel in Lake Maggiore (called Grand Dino), back by 4.30pm, rest the out to a restaurant nearby for dinner with a few of the group, Peter had seafood pasta and I had vegetarian cannelloni. Bought bracelets for gifts back home, walked through to the sister hotel ...

Great breakfast at hotel- meats, cheese, bread, cereal, brioche, dehydrated scrambled egg(ok). Metro to Duomo €1.50 any trip, big square, heaps tourists, African giving away free wrist bands. Church was amazing. Oner 100 towers and very ornate carvings. Took hundreds of years to build. Interior as impressive as Notre Dame but a bit rundown. Walked to Castille- another impressive ...
