We spent 4 nights on the water in a Best Western. Our activities varied each day. The first day we started walking along the Water edge (Medetteraean) towards Cap Martin. It was lovely and warmed up as we walked until finally we saw the great Monaco in the distance. On our return, be quite famished, we got a fabulous seafood lunch on the water. So this is what the Verdon Canyon is meant to be like if its not totally white out fog and pouring rain. Which it was all day. All 8 hours of sitting on a bus. Seriously tour company, if you know that a place is not accessible that day. Don't go. Stuff your itinerary!

... town. After that we had 'free time' during which mum and I did the unmentionable and walked (omg a huge 20minutes) out to a lighthouse/lookout along the cliffs of Portofino. The rest of the group were well impressed with our 'energy'. This was a lovely walk and we were rewarded with a cute little cafe at the end, where of course they charged tourist prices (4Euro) for one small lemonade.

Caught the train to Menton this morning, after a battle with the ticket machine. With a minute to spare, a nice woman helped us purchase our tickets from the machine...the lineup for the ticket counter was a mile long because the Celebrity Silhouette was in port and everyone was trying to get on the train.
