Last day and Chrissi packs while I run up town to do a few last minute things ...i walk her to the bus to farewell my fello traveller ...she's off to Barcelona ...then Paris ...go girl !! Then... ... with nice sticky stuff! We got our beach bag ready and did the 700m walk to the beach. It was a cracker of a little beach quite busy but we found a nice spot near the back... (We were very pleased we did as later some huge rollers came in a washed people's towel away! Lmao! ) we spent the day in and out of the water which was great fun as the waves were maHuusive and had fun riding them in and watching other people ...
... there was steam coming from one shower cubicle so it was either us being retards or just dodgy showers, I'm going with the second option but I'm not overly confident. Anyway showerd up and ready for dinner, we took a wander to the site shop to see what was on offer!! CLOSED!! Monaco -Italy Since the weather continued to be.....shall we say, rather depressing, we headed steadily East along the coast and through Nice, Cannes and Monaco, until, we got to a little place called Camporosso, just over the border from Monte Carlo, just past Ventimiglia. Not a big day by any stretch of the imagination mileage-wise, but quite trying from a driver's point of view...... Now, let me tell you that there is very little to recommend Camporosso in itself, ...
Menton is definitely on our top list of cities to see. It was amazing. Just past the rich "Blue Coast" cities in the south of France, right on the border with Italy, this place was a treasure. It had the Mountains coming in at a steep angle and crash into the sea.
We rolled into town and checked into our 1-star hotel. The room was just big enough for a bed, a tiny sink, and a chair and table from which we lit the candles and had wine. There is now stopping us ...
