    ... done secretly by the Japanese government so it was interesting to see the ruins left behind after it's abandonment. We carried on around the island and found a small path. We went down it and came to a beach. Sadly the entrance to it was covered in rubbish but the beach itself was fine and we had it to ourselves. We sat on some rocks and enjoyed the view.     ... the Achi Shrine. It was basically at the top of this extremely steep hill. There were so many stairs! But once we made it to the top it was completely worth it because the view was breathtaking! The area at the top had a Temple and other buildings. It was also extremely quiet. I felt very peaceful while I was there and of course I took many pictures! People came to the temple to do a quick prayer and enjoy the scenery. ...

    ... chatting to a Taiwanese woman who told us that the group were part of a health/business conference as the owner of the hotel believes that a healthy body and mind makes for a healthy business.
